SOUTH AFRICA

Comment: visited in season, campsites very close to each other, and not shade everywhere, great water features for the kids, long distance to ablutions

 

2: Great Braak Rivier, Mossel Bay | Glentana Beach Resort

Comment: visited in season, packed, very local guests, nice beach, close by river mouth to swim, camp site not especially kids friendly.

 

3: Natures Valley, Plettenberg Bay | Rest Camp San Park

Comment: absolutely beautiful for family holiday, nature at its best, river, fishing, hiking, camping under yellowwood trees.

 

4: Addo Elephant Park | Rest Camp San Park

Comment: perfect facilities, not pretty, always full, come and go, clean, elephant el dorado, pool helps alleviate the heat

Comment: beautiful setting, not so beautiful campsite, great park, stunning nature, pool great, kids friendly but only retired peeps around

 

6: Roydon | Queenstown, Eastern Cape

Comment: chalet attached to each campsite with kitchen, bath and bunk bed, only seasonal occupation, game and stunning eastern cape cow around the caravan, super kids friendly, game drive’s in the park

(Zambezi Sharks), beautiful African village, quite dirty but Thai style beach and bar’s, backpacker atmosphere

Comment: unique Drakensberg experience, beautiful, simple but great campsite, great ablutions and separate kitchen for campers, nice B&B Atmo, own spring, great hikes

Comment: nice B&B, camping on parking area, big kitchen and huge living- and eating room, most beautiful round pool, good location for exploring the area

Comment: basic and old backpacker, overpriced but unique African high altitude experience in 3240m height, goats and donkeys around, we arrived quiet late and could enjoy the thunderstorm far away, in the morning we left in rain and fog

Comment: Nice view over a toxic lake with hundreds of breeding Hadidas on a dead tree onto an african taxi rank!

We watched our first movie after 6 weeks  – MAD MAX – out of desperation.

Comment: Surprisingly nice and functioning campsite, bar and restaurant directly at the lake with Elephants coming by. Hippo’s and Crocodiles chilling in the water in front of us.
